Description

As a company with a reputation built on being “Only the Finest” quality assurance and food safety is a priority in our manufacturing operations. The Document Control Lead is responsible for ensuring that documents used at the site are handled according to the organizations’ corporate policies, and industry best practices.

 

Reports to: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager

Qualifications:

  1. The ideal candidate has a first degree in the sciences or arts, experience in consumer goods, and/or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience with document control processes.
  2. Formal training in sanitation/food safety/regulatory Preventive Control Certified Individual (PCQI)
  3. 2 years + in a food manufacturing facility in a Quality and/or Food Safety role
  4. Detail-oriented, good communicator, and has time management skills.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office tools (including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Lists) is a key requirement. Proficiency in SAP is desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the document control program and is the site’s custodian of Food Safety and Quality documents.
  2. Ensures correct versions of documents are used on site. Retrieves old versions after updates and replaces with current versions.
  3. Responsible for maintaining current signed hard copies and electronic copies, and retention of obsolete copies for historical reference according to Russell Stover’s document retention policy.
  4. Liaises with document owners to initiate updates to existing documents as the need arises.
  5. Responsible for issuing document control numbers and providing appropriate templates for new documents.
  6. Recommend changes to existing documents to align with changes in process and best practice.
  7. Supports site with projects related to document management. Ensures that document control policy is applied as needed.
  8. Ensures site documentation log, including distribution list, is up to date. Assists with new hire training on how to assess and use relevant documents.
  9. Supports with review of food safety and quality documentation for completeness.
  10. Supports site with implementation of Food Defense policy.
  11. Supports site’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance program by reviewing records and sharing key trends, such as holds, foreign material, sanitation and complaints data, with team members as needed.
