Description
The Senior Deduction Specialist plays a key role in optimizing processes after a recent SAP implementation. They will support the Accounts Receivable team primarily in the area of customer deductions as a Subject Matter Expert. This is a great role for someone who enjoys problem solving and process improvement. The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
  • Reviews daily deduction processes and identifies opportunities for process improvements
  • Implements proposed process improvements in deduction process
  • Develops training material and trains new team members on the deduction process
  • Helps pursue repayment of invalid deductions and develops a standard process for key customers
  • Collaborates with other departments (Sales, Customer Service, Finance, etc.) to get resolution on outstanding deductions and improving deduction process
  • Optimizes retrieval of back-up from customer portals
  • Prepares various customer, deduction, and month end reports
  • Communicates with large customers to build strong working relationships to reduce deductions
  • Supports Accounts Receivable Manager with special projects and acts as back-up
  • Responsible for assigned portfolio of accounts in clearing deductions and collecting open invoices

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting/accounts receivables experience
  • College degree in accounting or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUPS)
  • Experience working in an ERP system
  • Consumer product goods deduction experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP experience
  • Skilled in training others
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
