A day in the life…

Working in the Tool Crib Parts Room, you will work directly with our maintenance team. You will track, maintain, and inventory all parts and tools.

What you will be doing…

  • Track and maintain records of parts and tools.
  • Prepare periodic inventory or maintain perpetual inventory of parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming parts.
  • Prepare requisitions to replenish inventory or for special orders.
  • Secure multiple offers for items with high cost as per management request.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in parts room, tool room, supply cabinets, or other areas.
  • Return wrong orders or overstock items to vendor for credit. Dispose of damaged or defective items. Per proper management approval.
  • Clean and maintain all areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Issue or distribute materials, parts, and supplies to coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions.
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
  • Compile, review, and maintain data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions, and other documents to assess supply needs.
  • Drive to local vendors to pick up or to deliver parts to designated locations.

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to constantly, stand, walk, and reach above shoulder level to complete tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and write in English.

  • Previous maintenance experience

What it’s like at the Russell Stover Plants

  • Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through an in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily.
  • Surroundings. You’ll be working around different machines – Schubert’s, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels.
  • Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lift 50 lbs.
  • Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role.
  • Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate!
  • Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, or rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.
