Description

Our tradition of handcrafting quality chocolates in small batches begins with our Supervisor.  Using recipes that started in the kitchen of Mrs. Stover, our Candy Makers make everything from chocolate, caramels, creams and fruit and nut centers. All work is done with a focus on quality and safety.  This position will report Monday -Thur Thursday 3:00AM -3:00PM  The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities: Listed in order, ranking the most essential duties first. Essential functions are primary job duties that are intrinsic to the position.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in cooking, forming, coating, wrapping, and packing candy.
  • Trains workers in setting up and operating machines, such as extruders, enrobers, and cutters.
  • Inspects candy to adhere to specified size, shape, solidification, tempering, gloss and weight.
  • Must be able to operate all machinery in section in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to read and understand formulas/recipes, measurements, and thermometers.
  • Perform other duties as prescribed.
  • Conforms to rules.
  • May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift to meet cleaning requirements.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes, as well as dexterity in ceiling height areas.
  • Must have visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect warning devices/signs.
  • Must have ability to routinely lift 50#s.
  • Noisy environment.
  • Body strain from repeated motion.

 

Employee Supervision Standards: Extent of supervision required.

Employee performs assigned task given specific instructions; progress is checked periodically.

Employee proceeds alone on routine tasks following standard instructions. Refers all questionable situations to immediate supervisor.

Employee may arrange own work, but carries out work under specified standards. Is presumed to know routine work details and performance standards of the job. Refers to supervision only when in serious doubt as to the procedure.
