Description
The Buyer or will have direct responsibility for all procurement activities for a spend pool. This role will also serve as an active partner within the broader supply chain organization to generate data based insights to optimize cost, lead time, and scheduling of materials. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the power of data and the opportunity to build new capabilities after a recent SAP implementation.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- General procurement duties for spend pool, including:
- Contract and purchase order management
- Review of bid proposals from vendors and entering into contracts in accordance with budgetary limitations
- Analyzing patterns in purchasing and material usage to reduce costs or increase safety stock
- Build relationships with vendors as well as internal stakeholders to optimize costs and help deliver product innovation.
- Assist Director of Procurement in analysis for quarterly supplier reviews and longer range buying plans
- Build procurement analytics capabilities and make data-based recommendations to improve business results.
- Use analytical skills to help resolve issues in SAP and drive continuous process improvements in partnership with IT and the rest of the supply chain organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering
- 3+ years of purchasing experience
- 2+ years of experience in developing and using data analytics
- SAP experience (Purchasing and Materials Management modules)
- Purchasing experience in consumer packaged goods industry
- Analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, creativity, strong attention to detail and execution skills
- Strong drive, resilience, and passion to deliver results
- Strong teamplayer with positive attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
