Russell Stover Chocolates is looking for a Design Intern! Our ideal candidates are well-rounded designers who have a particular interest in vector work and publication design. The Design Intern will be responsible for aiding the Creative team in a “flow to the work” capacity. This includes, but is not limited to, creative concepting and design on new packaging, independently completing production work such as nutrition or ingredient updates to packaging, and assisting the mockup artist during periods of high volume. Candidates should be comfortable working in a group setting, highly organized, and receptive to critique.

This position is intended for students currently pursuing a degree in a visual arts discipline, who can bring solid creative ideas to the table, and who want to diversify their skill set and their professional portfolio through detail- and deadline-driven production projects in an in-house studio setting.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a major/minor in a visual arts discipline
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator on a Mac platform
• Experience in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign on a Mac platform
• Design concepting experience; taking ideas from abstract concept to final form

Preferred Qualifications

• Local to Kansas City during holiday breaks and summers
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Package design experience
• Creative problem solver with a passion for design
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Sense of humor strongly preferred
