Description
The primary function of the Housekeeping position is to keep the plant floor clean and in orderly condition.  Attention to detail and adaptability is essential. The employee will report to the department supervisor/leads in which they are assigned.  The individual(s) assigned to this job will perform the following tasks in various departments (Box, Forming, Kitchen, Packing, and/or Wrapping) as listed below:
  • No paper towels/trash on the floor (All Departments).
  • Sinks are clean and stocked with supplies (All Departments).
  • No candy is on the floor, conveyors, or equipment (All Departments).
  • No labels are on the floor, conveyors, or equipment (Box, Packing, Wrapping).
  • Materials not in use are moved to return area (Box, Forming, Packing, and Wrapping).
  • Equipment is clean and free of dust and grease (Box) & Chocolate residue (Forming, Packing, Wrapping).
  • All items (equipment) not in use are stored away from the line (All Departments).
  • All guards for the machines are not lying on the floor (All Departments).
  • All items stored on pallets are neat and organized (Box).
  • All tools stored in boxes/pouches (All Departments).
  • There are no excessive pallets lying around (All Departments).
  • There are no cleaning towels/rags lying around (All Departments).
  • There is no clutter on/under tables or equipment (All Departments).
  • All brooms, dust pans, squeegees are hung up (All Departments).
  • No extension or other cords are on the floor or draped through the department (All Departments).
  • All employee tool boxes are clean, free of rags/clutter and closed (All Departments).
  • All rework buckets are stored properly and covered (Forming, Packing, and Wrapping).
  • All stack off is neat and organized (Forming, Packing, Wrapping).
  • All wire cut off racks, dies, throats, and other equipment is stored properly and neatly (Forming)
  • There is no chocolate or center material on the walls/doors (Forming, Kitchen)
  • All aprons and PPE are hung up when not in use, on proper hooks (Forming, Kitchen, and Packing).
  • All formula cards are stored properly (Kitchen).
  • Kitchen utensils, buckets, tubs, & trays are stored properly (Kitchen).
  • There is no product on the floor (Kitchen).
  • All hoses are rolled up (Kitchen).
  • The floor is clean; free of excessive water (Kitchen).
  • The dish room is organized (Kitchen).
  • No wadding or inserts are on the floor - install catch pans under line (Packing, Wrapping).
  • Partial rolls of film are used; not stored on pallets near wrapping equipment. Return or dispose of (Packing, Wrapping).
  • Operate a scissor lift.
  • Floor maintenance including operating a Floor Buffing Machine.
  • Operate a Tenant Machine.
  • May be assigned other jobs by plant management as required.

Basic Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend and lift overhead during a 10 hour shift
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for the duration of a 10 hour shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in floor maintenance including operating  buffing machine
  • Experience with a Tenant machine.
  • Experience operating a scissor lift.
  • Mechanical ability
About the Corsicana Manufacturing Facility
Built in 1997 in the historic small town of Corsicana, TX, this facility produces "Only the Finest" chocolates and candies.    This plant typically operates 4 days/wk (Monday-Thursday) and has 2 shifts in a climate controlled (67F) facility.  During peak production times, the plant will occasionally work on Fridays and Saturdays to satisfy customer requests for Christmas, Valentine and Easter candy.  Approximately 770 people are employed by Russell Stover Candies in Corsicana making it one of the largest employers in the county.
