A day in the life…

America's #1 boxed chocolate company is planning for significant growth. As the Sales Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for leveraging data to create, implement, deploy, and monitor go-to market sales strategies in partnership with Marketing. Sales strategies will be focused on Sales Controllables, which consist of merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving initiatives. In this role you must be experienced in Sales or Category. Strong analytical skill set for building insight driven selling stories capable of delivering top-line growth, distribution, and market share. You will focus on seasonal and everyday confection in traditional and nontraditional CPG customers. You must be a success driven individual with proven Sales Leadership or Category Management experience. As the ideal candidate, you must be a strong decision maker and work well in a fast-paced cross functional work environment.

What you will be doing…

  • Serve as a category expert, advisor, and champion to internal and external stakeholders by reviewing and analyzing category performance and insights within the market and industry
  • Identify emerging trends within the category to drive innovation decision making
  • Utilizing syndicated data to build insightful selling stories for customer for executive level presentations
  • Drive best practices and recommendations on space management, assortment analysis, feature ad optimization, and trade effectiveness
  • Ability to leverage available tools, technology, and resources to improve the efficiency and consumer/shopper perspective of retailer validation projects
  • Develop, implement, and update turn-key category tools, resources, and processes needed to increase RSC capabilities and influence customers
  • Contribute to RSC category strategy and vision to strengthen our position in the category.
  • Evaluate trade investment and performance and identify opportunities to improve ROI

 

Do you have what it takes?

(Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of Category Management/Account Management experience
  • Experience using and pulling syndicated and loyalty data (IRI, Nielsen, Feature Ad tracking services, Household Panel, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills with minimally being able to perform functions like: VLookup, setting up and manipulating Pivot Tables, etc.

(Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing or Finance
  • Sales/ Category Management experience in the Confectionery industry is preferred
  • Strong analytical, technical, and interpretations skills required
  • Expert level Syndicated data, Nielsen/ IRI experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment and deliver deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and work as a cross functional leader
  • Ability to find unique and creative ways to add value through data and insights
  • Excellent written communication skills and solid presentation skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience Trade Pro/ Siebel transactional tools is preferred
