Electrician/Mechanic
1st Shift - Monday - Thursday: 5 AM to 3:30 PM

Duties and Responsibilities: Listed in order, ranking the most essential duties first.  Essential functions are primary job duties that are intrinsic to the position.

• Keeping scheduled production machinery operating efficiently with minimal down time.
• Must have multi-disciplined skills including electrical, troubleshooting and repair.
• Performs electrical maintenance for entire plant.
• Must be able to install new electrical equipment.  Must be able to size wiring, circuits, and breakers and complete all aspects of installation in accordance with Nat’l Electric Code (NEC).
• Must have working knowledge of NEC and must make all repairs and installations comply with NEC.
• Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics in blueprint form including ladder logic diagrams.
• Must have basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers and Variable Frequency Drives.
• Request, receives, secures and maintains supplies and materials required for job.
• Operates and maintains machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to standards, guidelines, and instructions.
• Requires heavy lifting at times.
• Involves mandatory overtime, weekend work, and ability to be “on call”
• Responsibility to clean up after any work performed.

May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.

Production equipment troubleshooter and repair technician with the primary function of keeping scheduled production machinery operating efficiently with minimal down time.
Troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.  Experience with PLCs, VFDs, servo motor controls and programming.
Multi-meter and other troubleshooting equipment, electrical and mechanical hand tools.  Read and use U.S. and European electrical schematics. Knowledge of pneumatics and use a PC with MS office.
Wiring, electrical components, raw materials, oil/lubricants, grease, chemical sprays, ink, solvents and boxes. TO BE CONSIDERED AN APPLICANT FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST SHOW HOW YOU MEET THE BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE REQUIREMENTS.

Basic Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems required.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Ability to comprehend technical manuals, instructions and warning signs.
• Knowledge and ability to safely and proficiently use a variety of hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.Esp
• Must have ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift to meet cleaning requirements.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination and possess motor skills enabling mobility and quick reflexes, as well as dexterity in ceiling height areas.
• Must have visual/hearing ability sufficient to recognize or detect warning devices/signs.
• Must have ability to routinely lift 50#s.
• Ability to ready electrical diagrams/schematics.

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Trade certification preferred
• Have a GED or a H.S. diploma
• Experience with PLC's.

About the Corsicana Manufacturing Facility
Built in 1997 in the historic small town of Corsicana, TX, this facility produces "Only the Finest" chocolates and candies.    This plant typically operates 4 days/wk (Monday-Thursday) and has 2 shifts in a climate controlled (67F) facility.  During peak production times, the plant will occasionally work on Fridays and Saturdays to satisfy customer requests for Christmas, Valentine and Easter candy.  Approximately 770 people are employed by Russell Stover Chocolates in Corsicana making it one of the largest employers in the county.
